Here is the fit and look after their sixth wash a few days ago. Can't tell much difference at all except the fact that they don't smell anymore, woo!
Cancel that S5000XX x 2nd blog -- I switched my order to a pair of 710s at the last minute because I'm a huge pansy and can't hang with full cuts. So... make that a Samurai 710XX blog.

August 25 2008 -- one year
Pictures taken August 25th, at around 12 months/one year.
That does it for this contest. These are likely not the final pictures to be posted here, but one year has elapsed, and that is all the contest was scheduled to run. These pictures are all high resolution for your viewing pleasure.
The fifth wash took place about a week ago. Definitely one of the biggest changes between washes that I've noticed -- areas of contrast became much more prevalent due to them being worn harder than usual, but also less often. Lots of sweat, a little bit of blood. "Big Bear" constellation of paint is never going away. I guess that's good paint.
I'm pleased to say they're still in excellent condition and should last me at least another couple of years before any major foreseeable damage is done.
This project of mine is dedicated to Philip Henri Bousquet. We miss you so very much; take care of Roo.

August 1 2008 -- 11 months
Pictures taken August 1st, at 11 months.
Only one month left. I've been wearing these on weekends only, or as work permits, for the past three months.
These are due for their fifth wash. I think I'll put it off until the end of the contest and wash them then, for the final pictures. I'll still be wearing these for (likely) another year or so; they have plenty of life left in them, and the real wear has just begun.

July 6, 2008 -- 10 months -- MAX300
Pictures taken July 6th, at 10 months.
I'm playing Super Stardust HD backed by a Scatman soundtrack, it's the funniest shit ever. I started a new job a couple of months ago that does not allow me to wear jeans! These haven't been getting a lot of attention lately, unfortunately.
The hems' chainstitch is about ready to call it quits. You aren't done just yet little guys; hang in there.

June 20 2008
I just can't take anymore Metal Gear Solid right now, so I took a handful of pictures just to catalog some of the smaller details.
Wallet got a few hours of sun. I brought it inside soon after this picture was taken. Might give it a few more hours soon.
Leather patch taken indoors with flash. Started treating with Obenauf's Heavy Duty Leather Preservative; some beeswax goop I picked up with the wallet. Smells like piss. Sorry, TMI.
ใใงใ。 I intended to write in the date of each consecutive wash with a marker, but I noticed it washed out easily and/or stopped keeping track. 23 is still there. Note to self: track down a pair of SLB23s.
I'll end this post with what was supposed to be a depiction of the intense vertical fading down both legs. It really didn't come out at all. Maybe a bit.
Alright! Back to Snake Eater. Tatyana is a doublecrossing bitch! SPOILERS!!!

June 16 2008 -- 9.5 months -- 290 days
Pictures taken June 16th, at 9.5 months.
These are fresh out of the washing machine for the fourth time; still damp. Doesn't seem like much of a difference compared to last month! Regardless, the fit needed to be reset, and an incident involving caramel prompted another trip to the laundry closet.
Flat combs. I lightly starched the jeans out of the dryer this time around because they've become as soft as a fabric softener sheet.
A new challenger appears...
Skull Jeans by An Alchemist mid-length medallion wallet. Still needs to be rubbed with goop and tanned.
